Kwacha Afrika Troupe (KAT) is a
youth based community organization which is registered with the Ministry
of Culture Social Services in Mombasa, Kenya.
The IMPACT project has provided much of the support
for KAT. This support comes in the terms of training and working
with them on a grass roots level. Other support has come from the
Municipal Council of Mombasa and the local administration. KAT works
in collaboration with other organizations.

Despite the support KAT receives from other organizations
it still requires more support to enable them to achieve their goals.
KAT would greatly appreciate any organization or individual who
can assist them by donating funds, sending a volunteer to share
skills, organize an exchange learning visit or train them in managing
income generating activities. This will assist them in becoming
independent and self-employed. KAT is an organization which is open
to new ideas and suggestions.
The members of KAT are from a community which
is affected by a lot of drug abuse among the youth. KAT would like
to start a Youth Counseling Center where youth in the community
can utilize it during the spare time instead of indulging in other
anti-social activities. A Center which has a gymnasium, video center,
resource center, counseling room and space for indoor games is an
appeal project in Kisauni region of Mombasa, Kenya. KAT is therefore
appealing to organizations and individuals to help them achieve
this goal.
